Drink Up!

John 4:13-15 (KJV)

Written by Karen E. Glover (Nov 2016)

Yesterday, I purchased plant food for a houseplant I have had for about two months but was not flourishing. I even watered it with “bottled” water, but it didn’t help.

While placing the plant food spikes in the pot, I decided to catch a bucket of rain water to water the plant. Amazingly, not even five minutes after putting the rain water on the plant, the leaves sprung to life!  The color became a beautiful green, and the stems stood at attention.

It seems as if the plant added five years to its life just by being watered with what God provided; even the raindrops literally sat on the leaves and didn’t drop off!

I was reminded of a passage of Scripture in the Gospel of John, when Jesus declared these words, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:13-15 KJV

When we allow him to SATURATE every fiber of our being, when we allow Him to LOVE on us, when we allow Him “Carte Blanche” access, we will perk up like that five-dollar houseplant!

[You can’t tell her she didn’t come out the rain forest—she is so beautiful!]

When we thirst after righteousness, we shall be filled. We will never lack any good thing.

As the Psalmist Raine declares, “Drink from the Well that won’t run dry. And the Glory that shall sit upon you, no man can give it!”

I’m so in love with the God I serve!

If you are “dried up”

Drink up!
