Prayer Still Changes Things!

1st Timothy 2:1-2

2016 Frieda P. Smith

In the Apostle Paul’s letter to Timothy, he wrote these words, recorded in 1st Timothy 2:1-2, “Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, (2) for kings and all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and reverence.”

In other words, instead of talking about our new President-elect, those of us who are saved—who have the power of the Holy Spirit and know the worth of prayer—need to PRAY for him.

I’m serious.

Pray for President-Elect Donald Trump just like you are praying for your brother and or sister, son or daughter who needs direction or clarity.

He is no different.

His spiritual advisors report that he is already saved, so pray for a hunger for the Word of God, which will lead to spiritual maturity.

Pray that he will develop a heart to do the Will of God, not himself or man.

Pray that he will seek Godly counsel on matters great and small.

Pray for spiritual discernment, that he may distinguish the voice of the Lord and the voice of the adversary.

Pray against the spirit of pride, for it comes before a fall.

Pray he will see the brokenness presently around him, and have a willingness to bring healing and wholeness to those he has offended.

Donald Trump may not have any experience in leading a nation, but God does.

Prayer still changes things.
