We have all heard the stories of people who fell short of achieving a hard fought goal.
It could have been a distance runner who ran out of steam during the final lap around the track, or a football player who celebrated before he stepped into the end zone only to be tackled by a defensive player at the one-yard line.
Sadly, there are believers who after years of praying about a situation, have stopped. There is someone reading this post right now who stopped praying because the enemy convinced you that you were wasting your breath.
God was not listening to you.
I have a word for you. The writer of Proverbs 15:29 declared, “The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous”. (New Living Translation).
You are probably saying to yourself, “I’m not righteous. I’m not perfect.” (We know that and so does God.)
The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 3:25, “People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood”.
Therefore, my friend, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, your faith in Jesus has made you righteous in the sight of God. In other words, it is not about what you did or didn’t do last week; it is all about what Jesus did at Calvary!
Hence, Proverb 15:29 applies to you!
It may not seem like it, but God is listening. He hears your prayers, and is behind the scenes, working things out for your good.
Be patient, and…
Do not stop praying!
