Proverbs 21:21

2016 Frieda P. Smith

Ever pause to wonder how you ended up in a particular situation, favorable or unfavorable?

The writer of Proverbs 21:21 wrote these words of instruction, “He who follows righteousness and mercy, finds life, righteousness, and honor.”

In essence, if we follow righteousness, that is what we will ultimately find because righteousness will always be in our vision. Like driving in a caravan, we will keep up with what we are following. We will not deviate from the course.

We will find righteousness, life, and mercy because that is what we are following.

Hence, if we have the tendency to follow mess, guess what? We will find mess! Mess will lead us to more mess!

Sin will lead us to more sin.

This is simple.

You will find what you follow.
