2 Corinthians 7:6
2016 Frieda P. Smith
As I was preparing for my Bible Study lesson this evening, I just happened upon this verse, which is a reference to a passage I was studying in 1st Thessalonians.
In his letter to the believers in the church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul made mention of the issues he was struggling with: “Trouble on every side. Outside were conflicts; inside were fears.” (2 Cor 7:5)
My friends, every single moment, someone is in the same situation. People are hurting. They are in trouble.
I have news for you. Those of us who serve the Lord in the Ministry are no exception. My pastor, Reverend I. Charles Williams, reminds us often that when we entered the ministry, we ended up with a Bulls-eye on our back.
However, read what The Apostle wrote in the 6th verse, “Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus…”
In other words, when Titus showed up to visit Paul, he brought the comfort of God with him.
That is a beautiful thing!
My question for the believers today is simply this…
When you show up, what are you bringing with you?
Comfort for another person or a bad attitude?
Comfort for another person or a self-centered agenda?
Comfort for another person or drama?
Tell us, please.
What can we expect when you show up?
