Jeremiah 1:8

 2016 Frieda P. Smith

 Fear.

That which keeps us from moving when it’s time to move, giving when it’s time to give, leaving when it’s time to leave, asking when it’s time to ask, loving when it’s time to love, and walking by faith when it’s time to walk by faith.

Fear.

That which keeps us from speaking out against injustice around us.

Fear.

In the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, the Lord God spoke these words to His young prophet in Chapter 1, verse 8: “Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,”

Fear.  A small word that causes big damage.

My friends, here is an even smaller word I do not want you to ever forget:

God.

Do not be afraid of their faces.  Your God–Jehovah–is ALMIGHTY!

He is with you, to deliver you. He is,

 God.
