It Won’t Be Much Longer Now.

2 Thessalonians 2:3

2019 Frieda P. Smith

I woke up this morning to the news that Donald Trump won the New Hampshire Primary.

As my mother used to say, “It won’t be much longer now.”

The Apostle Paul wrote these words to the believers in the church at Thessalonica, recorded in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, “Let no one deceive you by any means, for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first…”

My people, there has been a great falling away from the principles and teachings of the faith. Jesus declared, recorded in Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

The Apostle Paul instructed the Christians in Galatians 6:10, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to ALL PEOPLE, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

The last I checked, “all people” included Mexicans and Muslims.

By all means, hold evildoers accountable for their actions, but we are never to punish an entire race of people based on the poor behavior of some of its members.

Many of our intelligent, ambitious, and God-fearing young black males are in danger for that very reason.

My mother was right.

It won’t be much longer now.
