Numbers 23:19

Is there anyone besides me who struggles with impatience, especially when you ask someone to do something and they seem as if they are taking their sweet time?

When I find myself getting impatient, one of two things happen. First, I tend to become angry with the person who promised me they would do what I asked. Secondly, if I believe they are taking too long, I tend to tell them, “Never mind. I’ll do it myself!”

Unfortunately, many of us bring the same attitude and behavior before God. We go to the altar and ask Him to do something for us, and God promises to answer our prayers. However, when He takes longer than we believe He should, we become impatient, and tell God, “Never mind. I’ll do it myself!”

Come on, get real, and get delivered! Many of us are in some predicaments right now because we were impatient. We did not wait on God. He was taking too long, so we decided to take matters into our own hands.

My friends, I have learned that the writer of Numbers 23:19 was correct as he recorded the prophecy of Balaam, a man God sent to bless His people: “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

Nowhere in the above referenced scripture is there any mention of time. The prophecy simply announces that God does not lie. When God says He will do something, He will do it. Whatever God speaks, He will make it good IN HIS TIME!

Therefore, when we pray and ask God to take care of our situations, we need to stop looking at the clock, keep our hands out of God’s business, and stay out of God’s way.

When God says He will do it, it is so!
