Discouraged? Look Up!

Colossians 3:2

2016 Frieda P. Smith

One of the most beautiful sights the Lord blessed us with is not on the earth.

It is above us.

What I love about the sky is that it is never the same. Ever.

Think about it…much of what is on the earth is there every single day.

The tree on the corner. The apartment building or house.

The blue postal mailbox. The mountains and valleys.

However, even though the sky is there every day, when we look up, we do not see the same thing we saw yesterday. Or the day before that. Or the day before that.

The Apostle Paul wrote these words to the new believers at the church at Colossae, recorded in Colossians 3:2 reads, “Set your mind on things above, not things on the earth.”

This is a word of encouragement for someone reading this post today.

The Lord placed the sky above to remind you that whatever is going on in your life right now, things will have changed by the time you look at it later.

God is working it out.

Discouraged? Look up!
