I am a playwright, and in one of my plays, “How to Successfully Break Out of Jail,” one of my characters comes out of the darkness of criminal behavior in the light of life in Jesus Christ.
Can we keep it real? In our church’s conference call Adult Bible Study on Wednesday night, we were studying the book of Colossians and the Apostle Paul discussed fornication. I noticed that no one stopped me and asked, “What is fornication?”
We all know what fornication is! We all walked in darkness before we found Christ.
When we were in darkness, our “character” manifested “dark” behavior. We cussed people out when we felt like it. We were mean and uncaring. We were disobedient to God and our parents. We were reckless. We acted that way, because we were “cast” by the enemy in the “character of darkness”.
Now that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have been “cast” in a new role. Jesus said to His Disciples, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven”.
This is simple.
Turn your light on!
