2nd Kings 4:23

It takes great faith to declare “It is well” when life is falling apart. When there is no money left in your bank account. When your spouse packed up and left. When your children are locked up in jail or strung out on drugs. When you have been terminated from your job. When you are sick and there is no cure to be found. [Feel free to add your situation to this list…]
Such was the case of the woman in 2nd Kings 4 that serves as the foundation of this inspirational message.
After being a blessing to the prophet Elisha, she was blessed to give birth to a son. Unfortunately, her son passed away suddenly after complaining of a headache. The Bible tells us in verse 21 that his mother took her son, laid him on the bed of the Prophet Elisha, and shut the door behind her.
2nd Kings 4:22 reads, “Then she called to her husband and said, ‘Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come back’.”
Her husband replied in verse 23, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.”
Their son was lying dead on the Prophet Elisha’s bed, but his wife replied, “It is well.”
People of God, whatever is going on in your life right now, if you are a believer on the Lord Jesus Christ, you need to know that God has everything under control.
Go ahead and say it.
It is well.
My friends, I have a saying that I declare all the time: God is always doing something! I base it on Psalms 121:4, “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
You see, when we are awake, we are always doing something. When we are awake, we are working, watching TV, talking or on the internet. We are driving, listening to music, playing games, gossiping, cooking, eating, drinking beverages, reading, or texting. The only time we are not doing something is when we are asleep, and even then, some of us are still talking and walking.
The Bible tells us that God never slumbers or sleeps, which tells us God is always awake! He is always doing something!
Therefore, whatever we are going through, He is aware of it, and is taking care of it. He is not “sleeping on it”; God is handling it!
It may not look like it right now, but believe God and say it.
It is well.
