Greater Is On The Way!

Genesis 26:23-24

People of God, it is our natural tendency to relax especially after we have made it through a struggle. After we fought our way through a difficult season; after finally getting promoted after years of trying; after finally arriving in a place of ministry where all is well, all we generally want to do is go somewhere, sit back, and relax.

Yet, we need to know that what we have right now is not all God desires for us to have; where we are right now is not where we are staying. Greater is on the way!

In our text that serves as the foundation for this inspirational message, two things took place after Isaac realized that although he arrived at Rehoboth, greater was on the way.

Genesis 26:23 reads, “He went up from there to Beersheba”. My friends, what captured my attention are the first five words, “He went up from there…”

Watch this: Isaac had just arrived at Rehoboth, the place where the Lord made room and promised fruitfulness. As blessed and content as Isaac must have been—especially after arguing and fighting over two wells—there was still somewhere else for him to go. The text says he went up from there. He went even higher!

This is a word for someone reading this message on today! You have just succeeded in overcoming an obstacle in your life or an accomplishment that others said was impossible, but do not get comfortable! Greater is on the way!

My friends, never make a decision to remain where you are! It does not matter how comfortable you are right now! We are all very happy for you and we applaud your accomplishments, but your victory party needs to have an end date. You have further achievements ahead! Greater is on the way!

Like Isaac, go up from there!

Up signifies promotion…
Up signifies advancement…

You can have better…
You can live better…
You can give better…
You can serve better…
You can lead better…

Take your gifts to the next level! Greater is on the way!

As we return to the text, after Isaac went up from there, verse 24 reads, “and the Lord appeared to him the same night and said, ‘I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for my servant Abraham’s sake.”

When Isaac went up from there, he received a residual blessing from his father Abraham.

You see, back in Genesis 12, the Lord told Isaac’s father Abraham to leave his father’s house and go to a land that the Lord would show him. The Lord promised to make Abraham’s name great. The Lord promised to make Abraham a great nation.

Although Abraham had since died, the Lord appeared to Isaac—Abraham’s son—and pronounced a residual blessing upon him!

I do not know who this message is for (beside myself!!!), but you need to know greater is on the way due to your past connection with someone else who was blessed!

That person may have been your saved mother or father…
It may be your saved husband or your saved wife…
It may be your saved children…
Regardless of who it is or was, your connection with them is about to release a blessing upon you!

Greater is on the way!

I am not just talking about a financial blessing, either! Someone reading this does not need money—you need peace! Greater is on the way!
Some of you need favor—an open door! Greater is on the way!

Give God Glory for the residual blessing that is about to fall on you!

Greater is on the way!
