I Cannot Think Of A Better Time To Bless The Lord!
2015 Frieda P. Smith
In the 34th Psalm that serves as the text for this inspirational message, David wrote these words, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
When reading this verse, I had to realize that most of us have chosen specific times and places to “bless the Lord.”
The Hebrew word for “bless” literally means to “kneel” or to “show adoration.” In all honesty, most of us reserve this type of behavior for worship on Sunday or during our devotion time in our homes.
But David declared, “I will bless the Lord at all times…” David made a decision that he was not going to be selective with his adoration and praise toward God. He was not going to wait until he arrived at the designated place for worship before he gave God praise and adoration.
David decided that he could not think of a better time to bless the Lord!
All the time is the right time!
For those of you who have ever attended one of my choir rehearsals, you already know what goes on: Worship, Praise, and Church! I do not believe in waiting until the actual Sunday morning service to bless the Lord. I tell people all the time: “I’m not waiting until Sunday to bless the Lord; I might be dead by then!” People do not like to hear me say that, but it is the truth. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us; so while I have breath in my body, I will use it to bless the Lord!
So my friends, what are you waiting for?
I know you do not feel well, but I dare you to bless the Lord anyhow!
I know you are at work, but bless Him anyhow!
I know you have bills that are due and no money in view, but let us bless Him anyhow!
I know you have been in the wilderness a long, long time, but let us bless the Lord anyhow!
Let His praises continually be in your mouth! You will be surprised how praising the Lord will lift your spirit and keep you going on!
I cannot think of a better time to bless the Lord than right now!
